Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Our Laurier leaders inspire the lives of leadership and purpose at Laurier. These leaders are comprised of our employees who wish to share their experiences working at Laurier, what inspires them and what being a part of the Laurier community means to them.

Adam Lawrence is the dean of students in Brantford.

Sharing His Inspiration

What Does Inspiring Lives of Leadership and Purpose Mean to You?

It means ensuring that all students have access to the supports and resources to be successful at Laurier. Success can mean so many different things to different people, so it is important that we meet students where they are at, and provide them with the tools they need to find their individual success.

What Inspires You?

I am inspired everyday by the students who work so hard to overcome challenges, and who persevere no matter how many barriers or obstacles that come their way. I am also inspired by the countless staff and faculty who go above and beyond helping our students. I love hearing about the faculty member who stayed after class for an extra 45 minutes to listen to the concerns of a student, or the staff member that walks a student over to the Student Wellness Centre for wellness support. This is what inspires me.

I Lead at Laurier By…

Being a positive role model, being immersed in the community and community programming, and working to create better supports and services for students each day.

I Chose a Career at Laurier Because…

Of the people. The Laurier community is a special place, find with supportive, caring, and wonderful people. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

Being Part of the Laurier Community Means…

Being part of a family.
