Congratulations! We can’t wait to welcome you to the Laurier family.
First things first: Accept your offer of admission through OUAC. Detailed instructions are in your offer letter. Then, review the checklist below for guidance through the next steps.
Don’t miss a thing! Make sure you do the following things so you can rest easy. You can also use our Welcome Guide, which is just for students who have been accepted to Laurier, to help you learn all there is to know about beginning your studies here. Check your notification of offer email to get started.
In addition to the milestones above, transfer students have a few other things to add to their checklist:
A full list of important academic dates can be found on the undergraduate academic calendar.
If you are purchasing a new computer or tablet to bring to Laurier, it's important that your new system has either 5Ghz or "dual band" wireless radio technology. Some systems support only the 2.4 GHz band, which is also commonly used by smartphones and other wireless devices. This band can quickly become saturated, resulting in poor performance. A 5 GHz or dual-band system has a better chance of establishing a responsive wireless connection. This feature can be as important a characteristic of your new system as memory or processor speed.
Please be aware that your computer/tablet system will need to connect to a wireless network as there is no general access wired capability in student areas around campus, including residence.
